圣安德鲁斯大学创建于1413年, 是苏格兰建校最早也是最好的大学, 是在全英国继牛津和剑桥之后第三所最古老的大学。圣安德鲁斯大学在《2020年卫报大学指南》中排名全英第二，首次打破了牛津剑桥垄断前二的英国大学排名；大学被评为2020年“全英年度大学“，在《2020年泰晤士英国大学排名》中位居第三。
